If you’re like most people, you probably have an iPhone app installed on your home screen. But if you want to move an app from the home screen to the App Library, there are a few steps you need to take. First, open the App Store on your iPhone and search for the app you want to move. If the app is a free app, it will be found in the “Free” category. If the app is a paid app, it will be found in the “Paid” category. Next, find and open the file that contains the application’s data. This file will usually be located in your Documents folder on your iPhone. If you don’t have this folder set up yet, go to Settings -> iCloud -> Accounts and click on “Create new account.” Then enter your Apple ID and password for your account. Now open Finder and navigate to where you stored the application’s data (usually Documents or Downloads). On my computer, this would be my Downloads folder. On my iPhone, it would likely be called something like “Library.” Now drag and drop the application’s data into this folder. When you’ve finished dragging and dropping everything into place, press Command-F5 to force a rebuild of all of your apps’ files so that they are updated with new information about what has been moved. This may take a few minutes; don’t worry if it takes longer than usual because everything should now be in place on your App Library screen!
Start by pressing and holding down on any app on your home screen that you want to move.
Next, tap the “Remove App” option from the context menu.
Your iPhone will ask if you want to move the selected app to the App Library or delete it. Select the “Move to App Library” button.
The app will now disappear from your home screen. Swipe over to the right-most home screen to view your App Library. You can find the app that you moved in one of the automatically-generated groupings or by tapping on the “App Library” Search bar.
You can find the app by scrolling through the alphabetical list of installed applications or by typing in the first couple of letters of the app’s name. Tap on the item to launch the app.
Although you most likely won’t move an app to the App Library accidentally, you can reverse your decision and quickly transfer apps back to your iPhone’s home screen whenever you like.
