Google Photos is a great way to store and share photos with your friends and family. However, if you want to download albums from Google Photos, you’ll need to be sure to have an account and be sure to sign in. If you don’t have an account or if you don’t sign in, you won’t be able to download albums. Here’s how to do it:
- Log into Google Photos.
- Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen and select “Sign In.”
- After signing in, click on the “My Albums” tab at the bottom of the main screen.
- Click on the “Download Albums” button at the top of the page.
- You’ll be taken to a page where you can choose which album(s) you want to download. If there are multiple albums for a given photo, they will all be downloaded at once!
Google Photos is a great place to back up and store your precious photos and videos. You don’t have to keep everything in online forever, though. We’ll show you how to download your Google Photos albums.
It’s only possible to download Google Photos albums from the desktop or mobile site. Unfortunately, it can’t be done from the iPhone or Android application. Regardless, it’s very simple to do, and the process is the same on desktop and mobile.

First, go to photos.google.com in a web browser such as Google Chrome. Select the album you’d like to download.
Next, select the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
Select “Download All” from the menu.
A new tab will open briefly, then you will begin to download a ZIP file of all the photos and videos. From there, you can unzip the file to see its contents.
It’s as easy as that! This is a great thing to do as an extra measure of security. Just in case something happens to your library in Google Photos, you’ll have offline backups for safekeeping.
