If you use a computer with Windows 11, you may be able to disable edge tabs. This is a feature that allows you to quickly access the most important information at the top of your screen. Edge tabs are a great way to keep your desktop organized and easy to use. However, if you disable them, you may not be able to access some of the features that make Windows 11 so great. To disable edge tabs in Windows 11, open the Start menu and select Control Panel. Then, click on the General tab. Under thetab, select Options. In the Options window, click on thetab and then click onthebutton. In the window that appears, selecttheoptionandthenclickonthebuttonthat correspondstotheoptionthat you want to disable. For example, if you want to disable edge tabs for all users in your computer, selecttheoptionandthenclickonthebuttonthat correspondstoEdgeTabsForAllUsers. If you want to disabledelements for specific users or groups of users, select one of these options and then click on thebutton that corresponds to it: EdgeTabsForAllUsers (if you want all users to have edge tabs), EdgeTabsForUserA (if you want only certain users to have edge tabs), or EdgeTabsForUserB (if only certain users are allowed to have edge tabs).
By default, pressing Alt+Tab in Windows 11 will show thumbnails of both open application windows and all tabs open in the Microsoft Edge browser. Here’s how to turn that off.
First, open Settings by pressing Windows+i on the keyboard. Or you can right-click the Start button and select “Settings.”
In Settings, click “System” in the sidebar, then scroll down and select “Multitasking.”
In Multitasking settings, locate the “Alt+Tab” section and click the drop-down menu located there.
When the drop-down menu expands, select “Open Windows Only.”
After that, close Settings. After making that change, you’ll still see Microsoft Edge in your Alt+Tab view, but only the selected tab in each open Edge window.
And by the way, if you want to hide Edge tabs in Alt+Tab in Windows 10, the instructions are slightly different, but still easy to follow. Happy browsing!
