The two voice assistants that were once integral to Amazon’s Echo and Google Home are no longer speaking terms. According to a report from The Verge, Cortana and Alexa have stopped communicating with each other. This is likely due to the fact that both companies are working on new products that will be released later this year. Cortana and Alexa were originally created as part of Amazon’s Echo line of devices and Google’s Home line of devices. They were both designed to help users control their homes by talking to them through voice commands.

If you tried to use the Cortana skill on an Alexa device, the voice assistant would likely have responded with, “Sorry, the Cortana skill is no longer available.” Of course, since no one seems to have noticed the integration was missing, very few people probably heard Alexa say that.

With Cortana hardly a part of the Windows 11 experience, it seems that Microsoft is moving on from the voice assistant. While Google Assistant and Alexa are clearly very popular, it doesn’t seem that Microsoft’s assistant received the same level of popularity.
