Acer’s new laptop, the Acer Aspire One, features a 3D glass-free operation that makes it easier for users to work in 3D environments. The laptop also has a variety of other features that make it an excellent choice for students and professionals.
Acer’s New ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition Laptop
Acer announced its SpatialLabs technology, which features a stereo camera with two sensors that track your eyes and head. It uses the position of your head and eyes and an optical lens to show you two slightly different images. There’s also software that adjusts what you see on the screen as you move around, keeping the 3D look going.
As for software, Acer has a few tools up its sleeve, including the SpatialLabs Model Viewer, which lets you import 3D files into it to view them with the laptop’s 3D monitor.
The screen is a 15.6-inch LCD panel with a 3840 x 2160 resolution in 2D mode or 1920 x 2160 in 3D mode.
Of course, to render two images on the screen simultaneously, the laptop itself needs to pack some serious specs. Acer didn’t announce the final configurations, but the company did say it’ll have Intel Core i7-11800H processors, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, an Nvidia RTX 3080 laptop GPU, and a 2TB NVMe SSD.
As far as availability and price, Acer says it’ll launch in December in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa starting at €3,599 (about $4,160.32). The company says it’ll launch in North America in 2022, though it didn’t provide specifics. We don’t know if that $4000 price will stick around when it comes out in North America, but we expect it to be expensive.
Acer’s Other New Laptops
Acer also announced other laptops, though none will draw your attention as much as the ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition.
